The intended use of hw rod as a storage facility for flood protection elements may be thought of as a metaphorical sinking into a deep slumber, like Sleeping Beauty, because the entire repository will only come to life when a flood occurs. This deep slumber, as well as the notion of eternity that is associated with it, let one think of a monolith, cast entirely in concrete.
This project was discussed in the network series “wieweiterarbeiten – Workspaces of the Future”.
