“Gateway to Messe Frankfurt”: redesign of the entrance area to the exhibition grounds
Exhibition Hall 11 and Portalhaus, Frankfurt am Main
The ensemble of new western main entrance, “Portalhaus” (gateway building), and Exhibition Hall 11 reorders the western portion of the exhibition grounds. The Portalhaus assumes the function of distributing the various streams of visitors and is conceived as a symbolic building. It is a highly visible new “gateway to the trade fair” and thus presents a gesture of welcome.
This project was discussed in the network series “wieweiterarbeiten – Workspaces of the Future“.
