Windows of Light
Beirut‑born architect Lina Ghotmeh creates designs deeply rooted in their environment, blending heritage, history and climate‑aware innovation. Her work, described as an Archaeology of the Future, emerges in harmony with nature while exploring the legacy of civilizations and architectural responses to climate across regions.
Ghotmeh’s acclaimed projects include Stone Garden in Beirut, the future AlUla Contemporary Art Museum in Saudi Arabia, the Estonian National Museum, Ateliers Hermès in Normandy and the 22nd Serpentine Pavilion in London. Current projects also include the British Museum Western Rangerenovation, the Permanent Pavilion of Qatar at the Venice Biennale, the Bahrain Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025 and the MARKK Museum in Hamburg.
In 2024, she designed the Zumtobel Group’s 33rd annual report, Windows of Light, exploring how light and darkness – forces that connect cultures across time and space – shape our environment and perception of the world.
Lina Ghotmeh will discuss her current projects, share insights from Windows of Light and engage in conversation with architecture critic Laura Helena Wurth.
