International Baukultur Days Venice 2025
Water Engineering and Urban Form
© Reiner Nagel
The Venice Architecture Biennale 2025 will center on the theme “Intelligence. Natural. Artificial. Collective.” Curated by Carlo Ratti, it explores the multifaceted nature of intelligence – natural, artificial and collective – while reevaluating architecture's role in a rapidly changing global landscape. The theme seeks to foster innovative solutions to pressing challenges such as the climate crisis and urban transformations. The Biennale emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration among architecture, art, engineering, biology, and data science to propose adaptive, resource-conscious approaches for sustainable futures.
On the occasion of the International Architecture Biennale the Federal Foundation for Baukultur organizes its International Symposium “Water Engineering and Urban Form” in cooperation with the German Center for Venetian Studies (Deutsches Studienzentrum in Venedig).
We'll start with an Artist Talk on Wednesday 11th June, at the German Center for Venetian Studies. The International Symposium will take place on Thursday 12th June. On Friday 13th June, the Foundation offers guided tours of the Biennale.
